Carrall County investigators arrested a Taneytown man Tuesday for physically abusing his 4-month-old daughter on two occasions during the past month. Police said the father could not explain the injuries to their satisfaction and withheld his identity to protect the family.
In Frederick County Circuit Court, 20-year-old Michael Meade was found not guilty of second degree assault after jurors deliberated about an hour. The trial centered on accusations that he assaulted a 15-year-old girl in the basement of his home following a party last year.

Acme Commercial Real Estate Holding Trust of Atlanta filed in Frederick County Circuit Court seeking declaratory relief over contract and partnership distributions at Amber Ridge Medical-Surgical Center. The suit targets Suzanne Saatkamp and the center for injunctive issues and seeks 25 000 dollars in damages from the center and 25 000 from Saatkamp for tortious interference. The action follows an ex parte injunction that blocked payments to Acme and names Dr Lorin Busselberg and ten Amber Ridge medical partners as involved parties.
Frederick City Police arrested Trent Dean Williams 20 and Elizabeth Katherine Findling 18 on possession of marijuana crack cocaine and drug equipment charges. The arrests occurred near North Bentz Street near public housing after undercover surveillance by the city drug enforcement unit, per a news release from Cpl. Michael Puc's office.
The Bicty reported Wil lowtree Liquors was found guilty and fined 500 dollars for sta minars on December 14, 2001 with a six month probation period. Mexicalli Cantina was found guilty and fined 400 dollars for sales to minors on December 14, 2001 with a 10 day license suspension held in abeyance for six months.
A former Catholic school teacher, David A. Czajkowski, 4th grade at St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary, is charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl. Police say he touched her chest through her shirt on February 12. Authorities are checking other schools he taught at for more possible victims.
