MAIF may cut auto insurance rates in Maryland

The Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund plans to seek regulatory approval to reduce premiums after reporting a $40.9 million profit for last year. If approved by the board in mid March, the rate cut could start May 1, marking MAIF’s first major change since 1987.
