Oppose Move To Give D. C. Back To Md
Annapolis March 1 A proposal before Congress to return the District of Columbia to Maryland finds little support among Maryland's top officials. Gov McKeidin and Sen Beall oppose the move, arguing Washington should remain federal capital. A Washington Star poll showed most state legislators against it, with a minority neutral and few in favor. Washington residents should be allowed to vote. Two brush fires were reported in the county Sunday afternoon near Rt 15 and Reichs Ford road with no damage.
