Doctor retracts ARC diagnosis for oldest AIDS-exposed boy
In Tampa, Dr. Jerry Barbosa testified he labeled Ricky Ray as having ARC under a judge's order. He said the court's wording forced the diagnosis despite lack of symptoms. The hearing sought clarity on ARC labeling and its impact on the Ray brothers' schooling and health monitoring. Ricky, 10, Robert, 12, and Randy, 8, were excluded from regular classes after AIDS antibody tests in 1986.
