State Considers Taking Over Seven Mile Thurmont Road
County officials led by Dr Victor F Culien of the Abiliaevile Sanatorium met with the State Lands Commission in Baltimore to discuss state takeover and improvement of the Thurmont to Sanatorium road. A bill before the Legislature would extend state control to all main roads to state institutions, with Sabillasville Road likely included if the measure passes. A petition from Hauvers district residents urged state ownership to enable better travel facilities.
