Neander Neal's Attempt Ends in Jailhouse Bloodshed
In Wheeling West Virginia Neal Neander attempted to shoot his way out of custody after being charged with trying to kill his wife. A jailer wrestled his revolver from him and Neal was shot dead after firing at the jailer. A separate Arkansas feud prompts resignation of Postmaster B. S. Panett.
