Bartman Wins National Arts Teaching Honor at Whitman

Frederick County resident Walter M. Bartman, 20-year Walt Whitman High School art teacher, received the first Distinguished Teacher in the Arts Award from the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. In Bethesda, his spring student show runs May 22–23 with about 400 students displaying roughly 1,000 works.

Odyssey of Mind contest set for Gaithersburg High School

Montgomery County students from all grades will compete in the Odyssey of Mind regional day long contest March 9 at Gaithersburg High School. About 700 students from 56 schools work in three divisions to solve long term problems as teams prepare for state and world finals.
