The city and a major investor have reached terms to replace the Carroll Creek railroad trestle off East Street extended serving Clorox Co. Officials say the trestle, vital for shipments, is to be replaced under the plan led by Mayor Paul Gordon.

The move ties to broader plans for Carroll Creek flood proofing and a possible new rail trestle at a cost around 5 million dollars, with Clorox expressing interest in maintaining city operations as a lifeline for its local plant.
