Mardi Gras Fetes 800 at Frederick Hotel Ball
The Frederick Woman's Civic Club sponsored a Mardi Gras ball at the Francis Scott Key Hotel drawing 800 guests. King Rex Edward D Storm and Queen Pamela Shipley led the royal procession with Kings Mathias Jr. and William H. Thomas Jr. Also featured were 14 princesses, 1964 Mardi Gras princesses, and costume prizes won by Bryant Ayler and Cathleen Fee. Four dance areas offered varied music while rose trees and Greek sculpture decor enhanced the ballroom ambiance.
