Court of Appeals exonerates railroad in Rochsville crash case

The Court of Appeals opinion clears the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad of fault in the Rochsville school bus tram collision that killed fourteen Williamsport children. It finds the crossing was well protected and the driver could have avoided the danger, invalidates a duty to keep a watchman overnight, and suggests remaining lawsuits may be dismissed or settled. The ruling implies no negligence by the railroad, shifting potential liability to the bus owner and driver rather than the railway.
