W V Coons a broker testified in Chadwick bankruptcy case that he loaned money to Mrs Chadwick and received a large interest bonus. He noted loans in 1903 with security including a Reynolds certificate worth 150000 and a new kiave valued at 20000 to 50000, while acknowledging some sums beyond the 75000 loan.
A promotional medical advertisement extols Dr Pierce’s Favorite Prescription as a cure for headaches, backache, and female ailments. It claims to restore regularity, heal inflammation, and strengthen nerves, citing testimonials including Mrs Dan MacKenzie from Nova Scotia.
