New Well Testing Rule Aids Frederick Home Buyers
A January adopted procedure in Frederick County exempts many new wells from a $300 yield test if four gallons per minute for three bars is achieved, saving buyers. If not, a six hour second test applies, followed by a depth requirement for the casing. The rule, approved on a two year trial with DNR permission, was pushed by the homebuilders association.
