Democracy debate on youth voting age noted in Maryland
In Frederick Maryland March 1 1958 speakers urged the Senate not to bow to veto threats over tax and war issues. Dr Pullen told the House Judiciary Committee he was not lobbying for the DIM but supported its aims. He argued youth today show more maturity than before and emphasized taxpayers fund education to prepare citizens. Bell argued younger voters lack information when delayed to 21 and that youths are increasingly participating in public life.
