Robber Given Up To 18 Months In Roxbury Case
Ruliord M. Gilbert, 20, of near Woodville, was sentenced by Associate Judge Patrick M Schnauffer to not more than 18 months in the Maryland Reformatory for Males at Roxbury after pleading guilty to breaking into Mrs Stella A School's home near Mt Airy on March 29 and stealing a wrist watch valued at 42 50. The judge noted a pattern of youths breaking into homes and warned penalties must deter the practice. State's Attorney Edwin F Nikirk said Gilbert drank that day and sold the watch for 1 to 2 men in Mt Airy. trooper William Houck led the investigation. Gilbert had been in Baltimore on a vagrancy charge and had no visible family support during trial. He had limited schooling and said he worked in groceries and carpentry.
