Lid Lifted On Deals In Government Insured Housing
Senate Banking Committee hearings reveal promoters profited from government insured housing projects. Promoters allegedly earned windfall profits totaling about 2.08 million dollars on a 13,846 dollar loan for the Shirley-Duke Apartments in Alexandria, tied to a broader pattern in 27 large apartment ventures. FBI referrals and alleged gifts to FHA staff are noted as alleged misconduct.
