Roosevelt Speech Delivers Dramatic Philadelphia Address
Phi ladelphia June 29 President Roosevelts epic speech was delivered in a bold dramatic manner, and the setting was the finest that could be provided by one of the largest cities in the country. The crowd cheered and bands played as lights flashed. The president waved to the crowd and the gathering responded with applause. The speech was notably vague and his campaign promises remain viewed with wary skepticism due to past pledges. He touched on familiar themes and offered cautious rhetoric rather than bold pronouncements.
