Brady law ruling not anything goes
The Supreme Court struck down part of the Brady gun control law, ruling the federal government cannot force local authorities to run background checks. The five day handgun waiting period remains, and officials nationwide say most checks will continue in states requiring them. Ohio will end checks immediately. Dennis Henigan of Handgun Control Inc. says the ruling will not greatly weaken the Brady law. Pennsylvania state police note background checks will continue as before.
