Successful Carnival At South End Asia Gains Crowds
Pleasant weather drew large crowds last week to the South End Civic Association carnival on the McCurdy Field playground. Although no final financial report is available, organizers hope proceeds will fund sanitary facilities. A drinking fountain was installed by the city and the association is funding a leader and equipment. A small field house and proper sanitary facilities top the association's project list. Prizes of rods and reels were awarded nightly to residents such as William Lang, Norman Burke, John Dudash, Stanley Smith, Dale Meadows, and Samuel Rhoderick, with a television set awarded Saturday evening.
