Suit Filed Against U S War Labor Board
Montgomery Ward and Company sues the War Labor Board in Washington to enjoin enforcement of a June 6 order at its Chicago plant. The company argues lack of hearing and illegality of maintenance of membership and union dues check-off under federal law. Ward's says the order would discharge workers who resigned from the union since December 8, 1943. Previous Ward's suits against the Board have been overruled by Judge Goldsborough.
