In Baltimore June 27 a trolley returning from shore resorts collided with a Pennsylvania Railroad freight train. Laura Scarborough was killed and Mrs. Sarah Cromwell died soon after with others seriously injured, among them Oliver Cromwell and several named by the hospital. About 40 aboard, rescue crews freed victims pinned under debris.
A cyclone like storm hit Harlem and the Bronx, wrecking a 126th street apartment project. Foreman John Lawler died when a wall collapsed as workers rushed to shore up the structure.
