Pleasure voyage becomes nightmare in Maryland collision
ANNAPOLIS AF Lee Troutner, acting Gov Blair Lee's photographer, and his 13 year old son were among 11 aboard a 35 foot cabin cruiser when it collided with two 28 foot runabouts on the Severn River near Annapolis. One woman died in the wreckage. The Coast Guard arrived within five minutes and authorities began taking statements as they prepared to raise the boats for investigation.

Maryland homeowners to receive tax relief package
About 200000 Maryland taxpayers will get tax relief under a $2 million plan enacted in April. Eligible homeowners aged under 60 may receive up to 1459, while those 60 and older can get up to 600. The program includes a rollback of the assessment rate as part of its three provisions.

Leuschner defense backs insanity claim in murder case
A Towson psychiatrist testified that Eliwood Leroy Leuschner killed William Marine Jr. on Oct. 2 after losing control to his "bad Eliwood" persona. Dr. John Henderson said the 4 year old defendant described the events as a spectator watching a play and cited unconscious drives tied to abuse. The defense contends Leuschner was not legally responsible.
