Barbee Loses Montgomery Bench Post
ANNAPOLIS AP Governor Tawes rescinded his appointment of Alger V. Barbee to Montgomery County Circuit Court citing recent developments. Barbee, 51, from Rockville, had been set to be sworn in next Friday after a 1965 legislative-created judgeship. No charges were filed regarding an accident involving another vehicle and a lamp post on private property. Barbee attributed it to slipping from brake to accelerator. Tawes said he would consider a new appointment after the weekend and urged Barbee to remain active in the bar.
