VA tightens rules on veterans hospital care and oath
The Veterans Administration announces new policy changes affecting enrollment and hospital care. Veterans must answer eligibility questions for industrial or workers compensation and may be redirected to civilian care if eligible elsewhere. The VA will notify employers and review cases if veterans request free care elsewhere. If discharged, stay until safe, else case goes to VA Central Office. The plan, the second since March 1, aims to curb false sworn statements about private treatment and outlines actions if illegitimate claims arise.
