Frederick Maryland June 25 Roger Montgomery 19 years old committed death by own action by shooting himself on the lawn in front of Miss Lela Nelkirk home near Monrovia this county. Montgomery and the young lady had been driving during the afternoon and he left the Nelkirk home about midnight apparently in the best of health and spirits. Later family members were awakened by pistol shot and found Montgomery unconscious with a pistol beside him. He died soon after. No cause is known.

Brewster Shot on Train Near College Park Georgia
In Atlanta June 25 Hal Brewster 27 son of Colonel P H Brewster was shot and killed on an excursion train between College Park and LaGrange by a negro named French Early. Brewster and others deputized by the sheriff tried to arrest Early who was wanted for crimes. Early fired killing Brewster and wounding others. He jumped from the train and was later captured.

Moonshiners Captured After Raid in North Carolina
