Frederick officials approve part of Moran rezoning request

Frederick County Commissioners approved 8.21 acres rezoned A-1 to B-1 at the northwest quadrant of 170 and U S 40 Alternate and rejected 22.16 acres A-1 to A-3 high density residential. Commissioner Collins opposed the decision, preferring full rezoning. Planning staff cited inadequate sewer facilities for townhouse or apartment uses.

Judge Frees Marine In Slaying Case

A Marine, Pfc. Thomas R. Boyd, is acquitted of unpremeditated murder in Vietnam killing 16 Vietnamese civilians. The 19 year old from Evansville Indiana cried and hugged supporters after the verdict as fellow Marines awaited outside the Son Thang village court.
