Man slashes home after alleged choking of wife
Hugh H. Hahn, 58, of 144 West Patrick Street Frederick, reportedly choked his wife Wanda Pearl Hahn during a family dispute and slashed both the kitchen and bedroom knives before collapsing. She received neck and eye bruises and was treated, then released. Hahn was admitted to Frederick Memorial Hospital in fair condition. police say the couple, married three months, had prior marriages and children in California or Alaska. Police theorize jealousy prompted the incident.

Two Men Drown In Potomac On Sunday
Washington June 23 two drownings occurred in the Potomac River. James Thomas 18 of Alexandria Va swept over Great Falls while four companions and hundreds watched. A Southeast Washington woman Shirley Parker 20 capsized a motorboat near Georgetown and perished. Five others were rescued. Thomas Wicker 31 a Winston Salem Journal correspondent narrowly escaped when a canoe capsized at Great Falls. Great Falls lies 32 miles above Washington. Terrorists in Algiers fired from an automobile killing one and wounding six after a theater exit. Military reports said 35 rebels were put out of action in the Tlemcen area. A rebel infirmary was found in a cave.
