Brethren Conference At Ocean Grove Draws 820 Delegates
Twenty three members of the Frederick Church of the Brethren attended the annual conference at Ocean Grove New Jersey ending June 19. The next gathering for the conference will be in Grand Rapids Michigan. Rev Paul W Kinsel of Frederick was elected to a three year term on the conference program committee. The event drew 820 delegates and about 12000 people attended sessions. Moderator Dr Paul H Bowman of Bridgewater College spoke on frontiers of the church and the Brethren heritage. A budget of 1137000 was adopted for missions service and church programs. Eleven new missionaries were confirmed for Africa and India. Local delegates included Mrs Herbert Duvall and Rev and Mrs Kinsel and families among others. Dr Charles C Ellis was named moderator for 1950. Mr Kinsel represents the District of Eastern Maryland.
