Fire of incendiary origin gutted Zentz's Mill on South Bentz Street, Frederick, dating to about 2:50 AM. The city owned structure, erected in 1787, stood at the park entrance and was uninsured for its valuable machinery. Fire crews from Independents, Juniors, and Uniteds battled the blaze for hours. the engine suffered damage and was towed for repairs. Refusal of S L W Young a former Hagerstown realtor now facing a seven year term to testify led to the dismissal in Washington County court of the Hill of complaint in the suit of G W W Scot hern against David A Betts. The case grew from Youngs transactions and was among many that might have been filed if the plaintiff had court favor. Scothern through Young had borrowed 1300 from Betts. The money was paid to Young who Scothern says acted as feller agent. If proven Young would be liable and Scothern would be freed of the debt. Young refused to say if he acted as an agent. By law he cannot be forced to incriminate himself.

Presbyterians To Return Here For 1927 Meeting
An executive session of the Presbyterian Synod of Baltimore decided to return to Hood College for the annual conference the last week in June 1927, with invitations extended to allied synods and churches to unite. Nine city playgrounds to open Monday in Frederick
