Trial reveals how funding requests were padded for courses
Witnesses testified that registration cards and course titles were lifted from telephone books and prepared by others. Brill admitted using personal definitions for recreational or avocational while verifying state funded noncredit programs, and rejected some Christoff submissions including how to enjoy one’s fireplace. Multiple club and society events were billed as state funded courses, with witnesses naming groups from Sally Speicher’s Rock and Mineral Club to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, plus a Hood College trout fishing program.
