Secretary of the Army Robert T. Stevens urged balance between military and economic security at the United States Command and General Staff College exercises in Leavenworth. Found Diamond Fetches 7800 At Auction In Maryland
A 9.30 carat diamond found by Marie Mason of Baltimore in 1950 was auctioned this week for 7800 dollars. After costs and legal fees, Mason netted about 5250 dollars. The ring was discovered when a pawn loan exposed its value and a losers’ court action returned it to its owner. Detainers were filed in Gettysburg for James Anthony Wills on armed robbery and burglary charges. Wills, 28, was sentenced to six months and later tied to a store robbery attempt foiled by a clerk. Marriage licenses issued in Westminster include Becker with Miller, Conaway with Martin, Wishard with Wishard, Dutterer with Markie, and Jarvis with Jarnekd.
