Still raid in Sugar Loaf mountains linked to Washington operators
Sheriff and Lip deputies raided a still in Sugar Loaf mountain area Saturday afternoon. Officials believe the operation was linked to Washington and supplied a portion of square alcohol. A large Hudson car used at the site was seized after locals moved it despite officers. A camera with six undeveloped negatives and several workers were photographed for identification. A second still nearby may exist within half a mile. William Jones, arrested at the site, has not yet answered questions, and Turner, another youth, was questioned after an intoxication incident. A Park Mills woman claimed the theft line used to move alcohol. Further arrests are anticipated as evidence is reviewed.
