Chevy Chase man killed in accident near Surrey Street
A Chevy Chase man died at the scene and another was listed in critical condition after a 1981 Dodge left Surrey Street and struck trees in the 3500 block. Investigators say excessive speed around 1145 pm led to the crash on Amberland Avenue. The deceased was identified as Christopher Condon Walkner, 23, of Chevy Chase. the operator, Frederick Irston Guthrie, 22, of Amberland Avenue, was in critical condition at Suburban Hospital.
