Lee Drug Case to Begin July 15
Joseph Lee son of Maryland Lt Gov Flair Lee and co defendants face drug charges after last year’s arrests on the Montgomery County estate. Garrett County Circuit Court Judge Stuart Hamill set July 15 for start of motions in a venue change case from Montgomery County. A police raid there led to confiscation of marijuana.

Man Recovering From Shooting On Middle Alley
Sherman Bowens was wounded Monday morning at his Middle Alley home by a .22 caliber rifle. He was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital by Juniors' ambulance around 10 am and listed in good condition after surgery.

Bendix to close York communications division affecting 325 jobs
Bendix Corp. said its York Pa. communications division employing about 325 would shut down shortly after July 1. Alfred E. Clark, York plant general manager, said operations would transfer to Towson Md. due to diminishing work from lost contracts. The division has focused on government electronics work in recent years.
