Farmers And Mechanics Bank History Began 1817
The Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick County traces its roots to 1817 when the Bank of Westminster opened a Frederick branch named The Office Of Pay And Receipt. It evolved through Civil War impacts, was chartered as a national bank in 1865, and later merged with Citizens National Bank in 1953 to form a larger financial institution with expanded facilities and services.
