Indictment in Camden will case shocks Gillmor county
Mrs Myra Camden of Clarksburg W Va stood at the center of a sensational report that she had been indicted by the Gillmor County Circuit Court grand jury. Governor Atkinson confirmed the indictment and said she had been arrested and entered a plea for her appearance. The matter centers on contested property and a forged will aimed to control the Camden estate. A formal protest to probate was filed by Martha Sommers Dora Ramsburg and Genevieve Boggess. The case lingered to a June 13 hearing where testimony supported the will as the late Judge Gideon D Camden’s true last document. A settlement let the widow receive about 105000 while other heirs contested the will and deeds. The governor, a candidate for re election, noted his personal stake in the case and his family’s prominence in the region.
