Draft material scarce for 18 to 25 year olds in Maryland
Baltimore June 20 Col Henry C Stanwood Maryland Selective Service director said state draft boards were running short of 1 A material for the 18 to 25 age group and tightened deferment standards for 26 to 29 year olds were likely soon. Occupational deferments remain for essential war industry needs, with local boards to follow national regulations. The 28 to 29 group cleanout would wait for national orders.
