Quadruplets born after risky 30 week pregnancy in Maryland

Cindy May of Frederick endured nausea and bed rest during a harrowing 30 week pregnancy that culminated in the birth of fraternal quadruplets on May 23 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. Doctors warned that four survivors were unlikely, but the Mays declined multi fetal reduction, choosing to trust in God and carry all four to term.

Maryland town council approves large operating fund transfers

Aldermen in New Midway on Md 194 unanimously approved more than 600000 in transfers to clear the books before the June 30 fiscal year end. The move included 300000 to the Weinberg Center for the Arts and 110000 for sinkhole repairs, with 281000 shifted from the emergency fund to general operations. Public works chief Fred Eisenhart Jr said a 7805 transfer would cover street cones, barricades, surveying gear, tools, a printer, and office furniture for a new secretary.

Summer Solstice Weekend Weather in Frederick County

Frightening Friday thunderstorms gave way to warm dry conditions by afternoon in Frederick County. The National Weather Service forecasts partly sunny highs in the upper 80s today and low 90s Sunday with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. The Frederick Almanac calls for a July drought early, then cooler and wetter weather, with peak heat around the full moon mid July. Motorists to Cunningham Falls State Park are advised to follow new parking signs and directions to the lake area.

Jefferson School First Graduation Marks Small Cohort

Jefferson School, run by the Sheppard Pratt Health System, held its first commencement ceremony with three graduates, including Kevin, who arrived on opening day in 1996.
