TB Still Is Held Menace at Frederick Lions Luncheon
Mrs. Freda Doll, executive secretary of the Frederick County TB association, told Frederick Lions at a Key Hotel luncheon that TB remains a threat with millions carrying germs and hundreds of thousands with active or undiscovered cases. She cited progress from new drugs and early discovery, noting 90 percent TB deaths reduced and several local efforts including skin tests, chest clinics, and twicemonthly health department clinics. The talk outlined local fund use, the Christmas Seals program, and planned Fourth of July motorcycle races for charity.

In Casper Wyoming a 16 percent front watermelon bust occurred on Highway 22 near hero. Three men were hospitalized with cuts and fractures after a truck accident involving watermelons.
