Emmitsburg Bicentennial Pages Vivid Volumes of Local Life
Bearded gents and bonneted belles star in Emmitsburg bicentennial festivities. The village, founded with Catholic influence, showcases Valley Echoes pageant and a week of events led by notable locals like William Shuff and Bernard Welty. Historic churches, Mt. St. Marys, St. Joseph College, and two factories anchor a town balancing heritage and growth as residents celebrate 200 years.
