Banks Writers Gifted To Aid Blind At Lions Club
The Lions Club presented Banks writers to Miss Alice Rohrbach of Braddock Heights and Clifton Wirts, a Marion County member, at the Francis Scott Key Hotel luncheon. Rev William C Royal spoke for the club's Blind and Light Conservation Committee. Rohrbach demonstrated the pocket size Braille writer, noting it greatly speeds writing versus the slate and stylus. The device uses six keys and a space bar, prints on a tape roll, and refills are available. Wirts and Abrecht praised the gift, with Wirts planning to use it in lawmaking and Abrecht noting prior benefits from the program.
