Blues and Grays Gather For Gettysburg War Veterans Camp
Union and Confederate veterans residing in Frederick plan a June camp near Gettysburg to mark the 50th anniversary of the battle. The gathering will host veterans from both sides in a peace reunion with an estimated 50,000 tents and wide crowd. Gen John R. King says no distinction will be drawn between blue and gray as they walk arm in arm, honoring Meade and Lee. The event faces a somber note as many veterans near 72 may not live to see it.
