Monkeys Snakes and Turtles on Three Springs Fisheries List
The 1963 Three Springs Fisheries catalog at Lilypons markets a playful 12 inch squirrel monkey, palm size snakes, miniature turtles, baby South American alligators, and small decorative sharks for aquariums. Iguanas and chameleons are offered, plus a tiny yellow water lily named Dorothy La Mour. The piece notes the company’s leading role in goldfish and water plants, and profiles founder G L Thomas and descendants involved in the business. It also reports a potential Rockville purchase of historic Dawson House for the Montgomery County Historical Society and its long-standing ties to the area.
