Watk ins Given Five Years On Three False Pretense Convictions
Otis L. Watkins 28, manager of the Co operative Sales and Service Corp Ridgeville auto firm, was sentenced Monday to five years in Maryland Penitentiary on each of three false pretenses convictions, to run concurrently. Six forgery charges were suspended. A tenth forgery indictment awaits trial after an attached Baltimore witness arrives. Watkins faced about 11 000 involved in the deals, used to run the stock company business. He was released on bail last February and defended by D Princeton Buckey.

Well Known Musician Sir Edward Perry Dies at 69
Sir Edward Baxter Perry a blind pianist and composer died at his Comdex Maine summer home on Friday June 13 aged 69. A Frederick figure he taught piano and music theory at Hood College in 1921 22 and later at Lebanon College. He gave more than 390 recitals and lectures and was among the first to present lecture recitals. He trained in Boston and Europe studying with Liszt and Theodore Kullak. He served as a teaching director at Lebanon and left a lasting musical legacy.
