Patrick Henry Opposes Stamp Act Sparks Colonial Action
In May 1765 Patrick Henry urged five resolves against the Stamp Act in the Virginia House of Burgesses, declaring colonial rights and liberties. His stance circulated in Virginia papers and influenced the Stamp Act Congress in New York, which denied Parliament's taxation power and fostered intercolonial unity.
