Carroll County recreation councils extend after hours school use
Carroll County recreation councils expand third use of school facilities for community programs. In 1974 schools opened after hours to groups for aerobics cake decorating and guitar lessons among others. By 1977 councils grew to 11 locations and now total 15 with aims to serve all ages and needs.

Frederick City plans a 7:30 PM public hearing Thursday June 15 to review the 1978 79 fiscal budget set at 75 per 100 dollars of assessed value and to consider zoning changes for 340 E Saeed De Tied Glert M 1. Other items include juvenile curfew and wild animal ordinances, lease for Patrick Beatz corner property, police appointments, traffic contract with Henningson Durham Richardson, alley closure requests, Pet Show at Baker Park, tree trimming and chemical bids, fuel bids, LC extension for Antietam Village School site, new budget requests flood damage claims bonds and reductions, Vernon Avenue tank painting, and Independent Hose Company change orders.
