Leg Breaks After Tag Game Near Railway Crossing

Hewitt Koode Meety, 11, son of Frank L. Knode of East Church Street, sustained a serious leg fracture about 8 o clock while playing tag near his home. He was crossing the Northern Central Railway when his right foot was caught between a rail and a plank at the Obarob Street crossing causing a graan splint fracture two inches above the ankle. Dr. J M Goodman treated the injury. The boy previously broke an arm in June 2004.

The Work of Death. George A. Whittier Dies at 40

George A. Whittier aged 40 died Saturday at the Emergency Hospital of paralysis. He was an engineer who worked at Mt. Airy. His remains were taken to Manor Reformed Church for an 11 o'clock service. Interment followed in the church graveyard. W. B. Etchison was the federal director.

Vertigo Attack Injures Jefferson Man on West Patrick

Mr. Jacob Shaft of Jefferson suffered an attack of vertigo last evening on West Patrick street and fell causing two severe head gashes with profuse bleeding. Dr Ka J McCordy provided needed medical aid after the incident.

Law notes on assault hearing and sewer work

James Oator and John Sewell colored were heard by Justice John Wood on an assault charge against Charles Davis. Sewell was discharged. Oster was found guilty and held on 25 bail for grand jury action. Preparations begin for two sewer intakes on Market Street by City Hall and paving nearby. A local cure advertisement for catarrh claims Hall's Catarrh Cure as a constitutional remedy.
