County weighs hold on prime industrial land amid annexation talks

County officials urge keeping the site as industrial land while the city weighs annexing 180 acres north of the Monocacy and south of Md 26 known as the Bowers Nashn and Main farms. Proposals push conservation zoning with minimum 20 000 square foot parcels, but floodplain limits and river-edge annexation questions complicate plans. Developers would fund extensions for water and sewer, with water treatment agreements to revisit if growth proceeds.
