Frederick County Commissioners rejected a 395 acre plan off Ed McClain Road to rezone from agriculture to a 1050 unit gated active seniors community. The 4-1 vote, with Terre Roy Rhoderick as the sole supporter, followed a contentious debate over public facilities tests and plan updates, with discussions of a potential one year reapplication ban and county infrastructure offers totaling 9.3 million.
With school out in Frederick, crowds flocked to local pools to cool off. At Glade Town Community Pool Erin Weimert noted about 30 to 40 visitors across the hot days, while Edward P Thomas Municipal Pool drew roughly 220 by mid afternoon.
