Frederick Sees Historic 1980s Population Boom
Frederick officials released an annual growth report showing 10,306 new residents added in the 1980s, lifting the population to 38,522 by decade’s end and pushing housing stock to 15,947 with plans for nearly 7,000 more. The eight announced Planned Neighborhood Developments drive much of the expansion, especially in the north and west.
