PSC Permit Is Before Court
Arguments were presented in Circuit Court before Chief Judge Patrick M. Schnanffer on whether the Public Service Commission acted within its code in approving a permit transfer to haul combustible materials. The truckers led by Samuel W. Barrick and Paul R. Kach claim the transfer favored Stewart Petroleum, a large firm, over smaller operators. PSC lawyers argued no public need must be shown for a transfer and that proper management and safety suffice. they challenged the truckers’ claim of inconsistency with PSC policy and potential payola.
